About This Micro-Credential

Child maltreatment may cause immediate physical trauma, and it also may have long-lasting negative effects on individuals including their ability to interact with others and function in the world.

Trauma-focused care (TFC) teaches clinical providers and other helping professionals how to understand, address and treat the root cause of clients’ behaviors rather than the symptoms themselves.
